NM –Carbomer TR-3
An easy-to-disperse, ethoxylate-free acrylate-based polymeric emulsifier providing emulsion stability, smooth texture, and a pleasant fresh sensory for emulsions.
NM-Carbomer TR-3 polymeric emulsifier minimizes skin care formulation constraints through simpler processing and greater formulation flexibility in a cost-efficient manner while offering robust emulsion stabilization, freedom from HLB constraints, stability over a wide pH range. It allows the development of a wide variety of textures from a shiny, smooth cream to thin sprayable lotions. NM-Carbomer TR-3 provides a light sensorial profile and robustness to stabilize sophisticated ingredients, such as challenging oil systems, actives, perfumes, UV absorbers, film formers, and optical and sensory enhancers.
l Allows for cold or hot processing enabling flexible processing requirements.
l Easy to use, extremely fast dispersing, ultra-efficient cold process possible emulsifier appropriate for sustainable formulations.
l Emulsify the highest levels of oil, up to 50% by weight

Formula Guidelines
l Typical use 0.05 to 1.0 wt.%
l Sprinkle the polymer onto the surface of the water without any special equipment or handling. The powder will self-wet and drop below the surface in minutes. When there is no visible white powder on the water surface, begin agitation.
l Extremely high shear (>5,000 rpm) mixers or homogenizers should be cautiously used because high shear impact and destroy the polymer gel structure resulting in permanent viscosity loss.
l Reduced processing time is possible if the polymer is added to warm water. The optimal water temperature is 30-40°C.
l Upon neutralization, a grainy appearance may be noted initially. Using gentle mixing will yield a smooth gel.
l Polymer clumping can occur if the polymer is added to water and agitation is started before the polymer is allowed to self-wet. This can be avoided by adding the polymer to water under moderate agitation.
