Normally, Carbomomer is neutralized into salt to make the crimped molecules thicken due to the repulsion of the repulsion. Sodium hydroxide and triethanolamine are commonly used neutralizers. This is why Carbomer is sensitive to ions.

2. hydrogen Type

Carbomer molecules can be thickened by the combination of one or more hydroxyl groups as a carboxyl group to form a hydrogen bond, and this neutralization method takes time. Commonly used hydroxyl donors are nonionic surfactants, polyols, and the like.
